About the Work

I greatly value my own rhythms, the freedom to rethink the project, and the subtle support of the team. Despite taking a different direction while working on the project, I take with me recordings, texts, intuitions… and above all, a lesson on:

How to listen even when life interrupts?

I experienced the development of this residency as a space for connection, where contemporary practices (soundscape, podcast, sound performance, writing) are not limited to closed formats, but rather engage in dialogue with what life brings: the body, vulnerability, silence, waiting. At this intersection, the residency functioned as an expanded territory, where the project could not only be realized, but also mutate with coherence and honesty. I greatly value the support of the team, the quality of the spaces, the freedom to experiment, and the respect for individual processes. Blanca is not only a place to produce, but also to listen (to oneself), even when the project takes unexpected detours. I leave with valuable materials, profound lessons, and a desire to continue.

BIO

Aurora Rodríguez is a visual artist, curator, producer, and cultural manager. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Murcia and has studied at the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Guadalajara (Mexico). Her practice combines sculpture, performance, and curation. Her work explores the relationships between body, space, and politics through collaborative methodologies. She is interested in activating contexts of critical production, cultural mediation, and archiving, understanding art as a tool for generating collective and political meaning.

She is the founder of Espacio Incógnita (2019–2023), an independent platform through which she has developed exhibitions, conferences, and workshops. She has curated and produced projects such as the OeO* Festival (Cuartel de Artillería, 2020) and has been part of the FAAK collective, which focuses on critical and performative methodologies. She is currently the program and exhibition coordinator at the Fundación Casa Pintada – Museo Cristóbal Gabarrón.

Formally, she develops a practice focused on the material investigation of the object as a body in tension. Her recent projects delve into the use of aluminum as a structural and symbolic material, exploring its possibilities for molding, assembly, and repetition. Through processes that incorporate failure, imprinting, or adaptation, she constructs forms that oscillate between the technical and the organic, the industrial and the corporeal.
