During their residency at AADK, Dana Maxim started developing their performance A Hysterical Poetry. During the first two weeks, they were climbing at the top of the mountain, journaling and developing shouting scores, a practice inspired by Justine Leichtling, Ana Isa Albano Araújo, and Raegan Truax. Afterwards, detranslating it for the stage, into a combination of continuous speaking, singing, and moving – a practice learned from Claire Viviene Subotke.

BIO 

Dana Maxim (They/Them) was born in 1997, Moldova, is an interdisciplinary artist and student at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies, Gießen, Germany. In their work, they combine in playful ways text, body, voice, and light. They challenge themselves to deal with topics such as resistance, tears, loneliness, limerence, sexual abuse, migration, and homesickness. Some of their works are Domestic foreigner, Salted Lake, Rehearsing resistance, Softcore pornography, and Skin on screen.
