She is currently developing Accumulation, her firs self-initiated artistic research project, as a participatory sound-walk system that explores how mobile technology and site-specific sound can transform individua listening environments. Her practice centres on embodied listening and technology-mediated social relation, using documentary processes, situated observation and site-specific sound materials to investigate sound as a relational and irreversible state.

BIO 

Siyi Xia is an artist-researcher and violinist working with participatory listening, movement and social interaction. Coming from a background in classical music performance, her current practice shifts away from fixed concert formats toward research-based sound situations in which listening emerges through proximity, bodily movement and encounter.
