The work I created together with Inneke is a reflection of the six months I spent in Blanca. I entered an intense process of learning flamenco, in which the greatest challenge turned out not to be the technique, but honesty towards myself and my body. As a contemporary dancer and choreographer, I stepped into a space where I allowed myself to begin from the beginning. A space where I allowed myself not to know what was coming. Two months ago, I had the chance to meet an incredible artist on my path Inneke Taal. Inspired by Blanca, by the space, and by each other, we began a collaboration for which I am deeply grateful.

BIO 

Katarzyna Myrda is a choreographer, dancer, and dance educator whose artistic practice is deeply shaped by migration and transnational experience. Since leaving Poland, she has developed her work across Spain, Switzerland, and Germany, embracing the role of an “artist of life” and exploring movement as a response to displacement, identity, and change. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Choreography and Dance Techniques from the Academy of Music in Łódź, as well as degrees in Dance and Choreography from the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Łódź and in Cultural Studies (Art Promotion) from the University of Łódź. Katarzyna is a co-founder of the PoruszaMY Artistic Association, where she has led nationwide projects as a creator, promoter, performer and choreographer. She is also the creator of Będzie. fiesta, a podcast dedicated to breaking stereotypes about migration.
