About the work 

Laura Morán carries out a project on the aurality of Blanca. Her work focuses on an aesthetic and documentary exploration that captures and contrasts the current soundscapes of the territory. Through this research, Laura not only records the voices and textures present but also evokes the absent sounds that form part of the history and collective memory of the place.

BIO

Laura Morán is a sound artist and audiovisual producer. Teacher and co-creator of Ciclo Especie. She collaborated with the electronic art platform +CODE (2019–2022).

Her works have been featured nationally and internationally: Festival Xtal (2019) – Transversal Sonora Festival (Colombia 2020) – Radio CASo for 8M (2021) – “deFormaciones” exhibition (Sound Art Center 2021) – Ciclo Especie (2022 and 2023) – Closing of Expanded Music Residencies (UNSaM 2022) – Galería Brújula Invisible (La Falda, Córdoba 2023).

She collaborated with artists from Spain and Estonia, creating an audiovisual piece for the work “WIFIPEDIA,” in the exhibition “Asuntos de Nuestro Espacio,” Centro Cultural Rojas (2019) and EAC Uruguay (2023).

Human perception is the starting point for his artistic work. He seeks to create sound atmospheres ranging from emotion and abstraction to the recreation of places, spaces, and acoustics, playing with the limits of perception and challenging the senses. He works with acoustic instruments and materials, the human voice, field recordings, and real-time processing.
