BIO
Ina Thomann, also known as Lino Leum (*1986), is an electroacoustic composer, musician, and sound artist. She currently lives and works in Graz.
After training as an accordionist and several successful years as a musician and solo artist Ina Thomann left the stage for some time to realize her ideas about music. After a year as a mentee with Elisabeth Schimana as part of a federal mentoring program, she began studying computer music at the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz under Prof. Gerhard Eckel, which she completed in 2023 with a Master’s degree.
Ina Thomann is currently focusing on long durational compositions and is deepening her artistic expertise in this area as part of an artistic research doctoral program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz under guidance of Marko Ciciliani and Robert Höldrich.
LINO LEUM is inspired by the questions “How does it sound? If it doesn’t sound, how can I make it sound? What can I make of it?”. She works and composes with self-programmed sounds and noises, self-built electronic instruments, misappropriated devices and field recordings. Above all, LINO LEUM wants to create new sound experiences from an unexpected perspective.
