Currently, I am working on materialities based on organic waste and its degradation as a reflection of the passage of time. Therefore, in Blanca, I was interested in growing crystals in the salt flats and extracting pigments to extrude bio-filaments and create a fabric that materially reflects the landscape.

BIO

Loana Flores, designer, multidisciplinary artist, and materials researcher, whose work is a compilation of diverse resources, a collection of experiences. She is interested in matter as a starting point for speculative exploration.

She uses organic waste combined with bio-design processes, digital manufacturing, sustainable technologies, and ancestral textile techniques to transform and vary the states of matter, revealing its multiple possibilities. From there, she works on the properties of a material, such as flexibility and transparency, drawing parallels with the values that allow us to coexist.
