During her residency at AADK, she is developing a research project around the memory of her mother, who had breast cancer, and her family’s history of Spanish immigration under Franco’s dictatorship. Through the figure of petrification (woman turning into stone), she navigates memories of resistance and questions transgenerational transmission, translating this research into a performative, visual, and multimedia form. In dialogue with her mother’s diaries and using clay in its different states, she shapes a body-landscape in constant transformation, striving to survive immobility.

BIO 

Luna Luz Sanchez (1996) is a French-Spanish transdisciplinary artist based in Brussels. Trained in theatre directing at RITCS (Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound), her work lies at the intersection of choreography, performance, and visual arts. Inspired by her practices of flamenco and butoh, she explores mechanisms of transmission and creates works in which movementvand embodied states reactivate a sensitive memory.
