“Landforms” is an artistic research developed by Murat Gür Sultar in collaboration with Elena V. Molina during the April “Traces” residency program at AADK. The project focuses on the materials that shape the landscape of Murcia across multiple scales: from fossils and ancient artifacts to microscopic images of quarry stones. It treats quarry not as background, but as post- human monuments where geology, industry, and deep time are compressed into a single surface.

BIO 

Murat Gür Sultar is an architect and researcher working at the intersection of architecture, geology, visual culture, and critical urbanism. His multidisciplinary academic trajectory spans Architecture, Arts and Design, and Critical Contextual Design, with earlier studies in Civil Engineering across Istanbul, Delft, and Barcelona.

His practice investigates deep time, geological identity, material memory, and the politics of preservation. Through artifacts, spatial research, and visual inquiry, he examines how territories construct self-images — and how these narratives obscure extraction, commodification, and ecological transformation.
