Orlando Ruta was born in 2001 in Milan; he studied social-psychology of communication and philosophy of Communication first in Milan then in Turin. During his practice he places lifeless natural elements at the center of his exploration. Gathering organic fragments during his hikes, he recontextualizes these fallen branches within the exhibition space. By paying homage to materials severed from their origins, Ruta transforms the gallery into a space of remembrance.
In this practice, the connection between humanity and nature becomes tangible, visible, and present. Thus, ephemeral and vibrant works emerge, held in a precarious balance that symbolizes our relationship with the environment: a bond made up of both reciprocity and thoughtless abuse. Ruta’s sculptures celebrate the vital force of the ecosystem, inviting us to rethink our place in the natural world in the light of respect and care.
