Space for transformation
CRUCE is a multidisciplinary residency program with an open theme, designed for artists and creators who wish to work autonomously and flexibly, without the obligation to adapt their creative process to the local context or to adopt situated approaches —although these possibilities may arise optionally.
It is a modular program that allows participants to tailor their stay according to their individual needs. The duration is flexible, with a minimum of two weeks, and it operates through an ongoing open call throughout the year. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Active since late 2020, Cruce has hosted more than 200 national and international participants. It is conceived as a decentralized space for rest, personal research, and remote work, promoting innovative ways of living, critical thinking, and cultural diversity.
Each month, a temporary community forms, bringing together people from different disciplines—artists, thinkers, digital nomads, and entrepreneurs—who share space, ideas, and everyday life among themselves and with the inhabitants of Blanca, in the Ricote Valley, a rural environment surrounded by nature. This context facilitates contact with local traditions and contributes to the creation of a sustainable cultural ecosystem based on circular economy principles and collective coexistence.
The program offers accommodation and coworking areas. Participants may also have access to equipped studios and event spaces, and can optionally add services from AADK’s Situated Residencies—such as mentorship, documentation, communication, technical assistance, equipment use, among others—thereby configuring a fully personalized experience. Arrival dates: the 1st or 16th of each month.
Artists from all disciplines are welcome to apply, as well as researchers whose work engages with artistic practice as an object of study or as part of their methodology.
*We especially encourage applications from LGBTIQ+ and BIPOC individuals, and particularly from communities affected by war, exile, and structural exclusion.
