The project interrogates landscapes —their production, perceived qualities, the narratives or ideologies they imply— and us, subjects and identities that are constructed in and with them.

After understanding them as socially produced spaces, the artist examines and deconstructs them. In this gesture, Alexis tries to capture the political, socio-economic realities and the philosophical questions that surround them: who are we? Against whom?

The artist decides to dissect these landscapes by reassembling symbols, colours and textures to explore what we call homeland and investigates the mythologies of belonging and our identification processes.

Alexis considers that we are immersed in a global moment that demands a seismic shift in how we understand ourselves in relation to the land and each other. That is why, through images that reveal narratives and historical assumptions imprinted on landscapes, the work invites the creation of future collective landscapes.
