Feeling of freedom: body and earth

Through images and installation, the artist is reflecting on the character of the place that we live in and on the relationship between human and nature, playing with our intention to organize everything that is in our field of vision.

While exploring the textures that inhabit Blanca and its surroundings, Anastasia collected elements that sprout in this area. Using these, she created tiny sculptures in those locations, which she then captured in photographs. These sculpture portraits tell us a story about the area, using the gentle human interference as a way to capture and absorb its essence.

The resistance of nature during the process, the difficulties implied by the rocky mountains, rugged stones and the fragility of the earth pushed the artist towards the exploration of a new layer, therefore some of the works investigate the embeddedness of our body in nature and the fragile relationship between the body and its organic environment.

This project is the next step of Anastasia’s previous work, Feeling of freedom, that she has developed while travelling through the South of Russia. The main theme of the project was our communication with nature and blurring boundaries.
