Elena Azzedin is interested in taking textile work to the sculptural and installation, seeking its maximum scale.
3700 knots is an elaborate material that adheres and adapts to the space in which it is installed. In addition to its playful component in which it seeks to generate a fiction, an illusion or a kind of strange natural landscape, it contains the temporary element of its workmanship, which refers us to the laborious and feminized work with yarn and wool.
The increase in scale of this work, on the one hand, tries to give new meaning to the historically invisible work of women while challenging the precepts of sculpture as something solid, heavy and durable,
What is presented here is in the exploration phase with the idea of making it grow and testing how it interacts with different spaces, including public space.
