loaned by the residents of Blanca

In this corner, we present photographs donated by several inhabitants of Blanca’s historic center—family photographs that form part of the inner landscape of their homes. The picture frames on the entryway console mostly contain images of their descendants. We, however, have asked them to lend us photos from their youth or of their ancestors. They have allowed us into their private space, to listen to their stories, and to understand the immense changes they have witnessed.

The hours shared with them cannot be fully captured in a documentation project, but the process of searching, opening, and remembering together has created bonds of trust that have allowed us to move presences that have accompanied them for decades—and that, for a month, will welcome all those who come to look at them.
The chalk map of the historic center is a work in progress, to which the neighbors will contribute information and new photographs throughout the entire exhibition period.
