07 Apr Giuliana Grippo
Residency period: January 2021
Giuliana presents a series of pieces that arise from observing certain atmospheric factors of the local landscape: sandstorms, the erosion of the mountains, the soil gradients accumulated by the wind. Her work – mostly ephemeral pieces -, explores the possibilities of organic materials, playing with fragility and balance. On this occasion the materials used are brick dust, stones, ash and glass – the last two refer us to the ephemeral and the fragile, the barely perceptible and that which is constantly changing. With these elements she builds illusory landscapes and small compositions that refer us to our surroundings, or invites us to observe the work of nature itself, which seems to want to impress us with its shapes and outlines made by time and meteorological phenomena.
