Cruce Programme: January 2022 – February 2022
For centuries, plants have been picked, raised and processed for nourishment, embellishment and healing. It seems that in every part of the world where humans have lived we can find a body of knowledge based on the powers of herbs, roots and flowers. This unique relationship between plants and people still remains in our ancestral memory waiting to be rediscovered. Such a quest will take us from the world of materials to a symbolic realm, where chemistry becomes alchemy, and colors manifest their powerful connection to the earth.
CHROMATIC MAPPING
Acknowledging, observing and learning to understand what is around me provides meaning to this life
Everything what is here now exists, has energy and a reason to be
But we live in places we sometimes don’t even know what is there
Mapping a place in my practice represents: the walks, encounters, observations, I try to create a bond with the place and feel part of it for a while. I observe the seasonal nature and it’s natural growth and exchange
I learn by this connection
Using remains of natural material from the previous seasons to investigate and find those hidden colours and make ink it becomes a way of tracing the dialogues between me and the plants. The inks are then used to draw dream landscapes.
