15 Mar Miguel Angel Lara Navarro
Miguel Angel presents a series of blueprints on paper, intervened with embroiderers or collage elements.
Among them we find two pieces featuring deceased birds on a human scale, which share the canvas with other anonymous beings. The artist creates beautiful and disturbing images that make us experience the indifference and perplexity of its characters.
Another of the motifs frequently chosen by Miguel Angel are male bodies: replacing the normalized objectualization of the female body, his work portrays men as the object of desire —he plays with canonical bodies and sexualizing elements.
His work, full of humor, is inspired by Christian religious iconography, often giving an erotic sense to many of the icons and elements.
In his pieces he also visibilizes the romantic relationships between men and the invisible matter common to all love relationships: the joy of the senses and the heart, and the fears of getting entangled.
