In the first month of her residence, Nicole wanted to capture the strength of Blanca’s landscape, via her chosen discipline, painting. Canvasses and large-format paper contain a palette of vibrant colors that we perceive with astonished eyes as holding the light of the Mediterranean and its desert landscapes.

Nicole continues painting landscapes, the shapes of which get diluted in the colours. She represents laying bodies as if they were the terrain surrounding us. She collects natural materials from the landscape, in order for us to understand what her palette is made of.
In painting every gesture is a decision and every decision leaves its trace. Her work is a constant dance of prolonging and shortening the distance between the brush and the canvas.
The erotism of the bristles against the surface, that either takes in or rejects the color with which it allows itself to be impregnated.
Hours of struggle and encounters, of agreements and errors in a constant search for the equilibrium. A continuous listening to the memory, dissolving in the new shape.
