The latest interest of Ascanio´s research is to explore the idea of ​​estrangement. That unusual relationship with everyday elements.
The piece, still a work in progress, focuses on sensory perception. By depriving the audience from its predominant sense – the view – Tamara proposes them to share a deep listening. She decides how time is used at the moment of action, leaving the audience immersed with an experience full of unknowns and, therefore, opening up the space for their own imagination.
As a first instance, she selects an object and explores all its sonic possibilities. Then, at specific moments, she reveals unexpected visual qualities of it. In addition, her actions constitute a gestural repertoire that manages to escape from choreographies.
This artwork displays the sensory capacities of the simplest elements, and proposes new relationships with the objects that surround us.
