These three dancers come together to create through research. Together, they search for a theme that moves them, and after many conversations they find “silence” as a concept to explore. Like all concepts, this one is crossed and reshaped by diverse subjectivities, producing different interpretative nuances in each individual and unfolding a multitude of imaginaries. Aware of this diversity, they seek to understand and interpret these differences.

As a result, they are developing a piece divided into four parts, addressing silence from different perspectives: history, love, nature, and life–death–life.

Their work during the residency has significantly affected their way of relating to dance. Although they consider technique and discipline a strong foundation for their artistic expression, they are also aware of the standardization and repetitive patterns that technical prowess leads to. “Perfection” is only possible through repetition, but inevitably this destroys creativity and likely distances them from creating a true experience through dance.

For these reasons, here they have taken risks: working with people who have had no previous connection to dance and placing themselves at the edge of silence. They attempt to forget what they have learned in order to listen to the body and the space, allowing movement—or stillness—to express itself as a being, rather than as a performance.
