Walking as an artistic question…

…to walk is firstly a journey under the open sky and at the open air of the world and ready for what can occur, every path is hidden in oneself before lying under our steps, and the walk opens up every time to an experience and a happy transformation of the self.

Caminar. Elogio de los caminos y de la lentitud. David Le Breton

The spatial references are the main argument in his productions.
Through painting, the drawing and the collage, Valeria portraits fragments of architecture and daily used objects with a formal and synthetic language.
These artwork emerge from a personal world, from transited or visited places, she tries to show them with a feeling of estrangement altering the reference.
Valeria walks every day and in these walks she observes in the front of the houses- in the decorative objects of the gardens, disposed almost as scenographies of the private properties …discovers in these individual expressions -on the sight of the pedestrian- affective and emotional stages of its owners, provoking astonishment in who notice them. This is the inspiring precious matter that Valeria searches for, two years since, as a daily obsession.
Valeria is interested in this mixture of individual expressions, the images that emerge from a personal world in the public context of a city. Based on collected material in the walks and a later reflection about these worlds, Gopar produces collages (built directly on the wall), and paper installations which become individual constructions without any planning, giving as a result artworks of an extreme fragility, reminiscences of an affective journey.
